He Kills Again

So, in chapter 26, Tom Joad kills a man (after the man kills Jim Casey). How will this affect the family? Will Tom be sent back to jail?

he'll probably just hide until it all blows over...the fam will be okay. they been through enough already that this won't be such a big deal. maybe ma will take it hard, but she'll get over it.

The family will have to hide Tom because he was hit and they know the killer was hit. Tom won't be sent back to jail

I doubt that Tom will get sent back to jail. He has been important to the family throughout the book, and I don't think Steinbeck's purpose for him is finished. He'll probably disappear for awhile though.

I dont think that Tom will go back to jail. He will just hide until it is safe. The law and cops werent very good back then so I dont think it will be very hard to do.
