Tell me, what does this title really mean? Why did Steinbeck chose this title for his book?

This your forum for discussion. Although I will toss in questions, I will expect you to be the main contributors to the blog. You are expected to post and comment at least twice (1x each) every time we are in the lab as a class. Naturally, you are required to keep comments germane to the novel and to treat your classmates' opinions with respect. Have fun.

possibly,....actually I don't know...good question...
I have no earthly clue.
If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
Of course... it has to do with the quote in the book about the grapes of wrath. But I have no idea why he used grapes. or wrath.
It's a mystery.
Grapes of Wrath refers to the line in the Battle Hymn of the republic. "he is stamping out his vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored" this line come from Isaih 63:1-6. It has to do with righteous anger. i believe that steinbeck put this phrase for the title of his book becuase many people were being tested and during the dust bowl that the strong and valiant were sperated from the weak and stupid
Check out the post I think by EKL...there is soem good stuff there.
The title is referring to the work the people have to do and the pain they go through. Working those fields was hell. In a way, they took their "wrath" out on the family.
we are the grapes of wrath
we never take a bath
it is our style to seldom smile
and never laugh...
excuse my silliness
Good question. All I have is that "Wrath" meaning the hardships and "Grapes" because they are grown in Cali and someone could bet a job harvesting them.
